Mixed media on old books with 9 steel screws
10 ×7×16.5 inches

This installation presents a stack of books, their pages pierced by long screws, symbolizing the suppression of knowledge and the silencing of intellectual freedom. The screws act as a force of restriction, preventing the books from opening, reflecting the ways in which culture, literature, and free thought have been censored, controlled, or deliberately obstructed.

Through textures of decay and vibrant colors, the books appear both wounded and resilient, embodying the struggle between oppression and the enduring power of ideas. Forbidden Culture stands as a stark reminder of the fragility of knowledge in the face of authoritarianism, urging us to question who controls access to information and at what cost.
